Traffic in India

Traffic in India is chapter on its own. Been there in last two weeks I experienced it all. I am back now and I have some stories to tell. I am not completely sure if I should do it now or later. Let me however tell you few of things which I have in mind.

Not that many pictures

I made very few images. Driving at the morning to the office and afternoon back with occasional social event didn’t get much of a chance to go for walk and have time to capture. Even I was caring my small FujiFilm T1 almost all the time. Once I made walk during lunch. It was eye opener for me, unfortunately just at that time I had no camera. Most images are,as Jeff said, created by his drive-by method from the car.

Illness

Another reason then traffic in India for creating only few photographs is my illness during the weekend. I who was always proud not to have any issue with food, suffered food poisoning. I have, probably, eaten fish which was not the good one. Whole weekend I suffered not only from diarrhea, but from high fever also combined with lost of consciousness and fall. This results in visiting of the hospital.

Great care

I have to say I have received excellent care from hotel, colleagues and especially from The Hospital. All this together results in me spending weekend in bed and toilet. Again not much chance to make any images. Following three images been made Monday when I felt much better and could walk a bit around.

The Bat & other images

I hope you can see the bat on wire of 22KVolt. It is cooked, fried in the air. I have never seen such a huge bat ever. Second image is a round about with a lot of traffic circling the small centre. I was amazed how so many bike drivers could survive between cars. This reminds me a lot Italy. Last image is just fun. I wanted to take picture of these two guy working at the roof of construction site. They noticed me and posed as you can see.

Anyhow, I am back home now and looking for the next adventure…

I am happy that your food sickness was quite short.

The second pic is interesting because of the sitting-by-side pose of the older woman on the motorcycle. This was common during horse riding in 19th century and also motorcycle riding during the 50’s and 60’s of 20th century here in Europe. I never seen such pose nowadays.

Richard, I’m glad to hear you’re ok.
You should praise these adventures, as you will have a lot of stories to tell your grandchildren :)

    Regards!

Goodness gracious, Richard, sorry your trip was hindered by your unfortunate bout of sickness! That must have been a little scary or unsettling to have such a bout in foreign land, not surrounded by the familiarity of the medical securities of home… I am glad you received excellent care and recovered well.

Thank you for your sympathy. I must say that I believe I have received better care that I would here, back home.
