Travel to Drupal country

Posted by on Sep 22, 2013 in Short notes | 6 Comments

Today is the foggy day. I am sitting in the train, sitting and watching all this fog lying on the fields. I am on a journey to the Drupal country. DrupalCon is in Prague and that is the place I will be in few hours. Looking forward to be there, meet people and learn. I want to learn a lot.
Only my eye is a bit of problem. Last week I have got something to scratch it. When I visited a doctor he look in it and found no foreign objects only scratches. I have got some gel, which I am using for a week, but my eye has still some blood in it. I also feel dry scratching sensation every time I move with it. I am bit worried.
In any case, it has been while, since I have been so hungry to learn and discover as it is now. I am sure this week in Prague will be great.

Eeks. It’s not your shooting eye is it? (gee, if that wasn’t a quintessential photographer’s reply!)

Detached retina perhaps? No… A sty? Every once in a rare while, I used to get a sty on the lid of my eye that would drive me crazy, as it would rub against and scratch my eyeball… thankfully they only lasted a day or two.

I had something also embed itself onto the cornea of my eye, and would notice it at just the right angle when I would look at a evenly illuminated scene (it was my computer screen that I kept noticing it the most)… I went into the eye doctor and at first they didn’t see anything, but then, as I was still there insisting that there was something, and them asking what and where I saw it, I kept positioning my head and eyes until I saw it, and told them, and they pulled out something to look even closer, and spotted a tiny little something on it. To which they pulled out a tool with a curved, sharp point at the end, like a dentist pulls out to prod and scrape your teeth, except a little smaller, and I was like, “uh, excuse me! Oh, sure yeah, please use that sharp, metal object and use it to remove the object from atop my eyeball!” But, they did, and with one single swipe, got it and removed it without me feeling a thing. They gave me some kind of drops to put in for a couple days, while it healed and closed up, and it went away, and never again an issue.

Maybe you did have something in your eye, that may not be there anymore now, and fell out, or whatever, but while it was there, did scratch and tear at it enough that is causing you the problem now. Either way, I hope it heals up quickly for you with no long term effects!

I have often felt, that if I somehow ended up losing any ability in any of my senses, that it hopefully was never my vision! I am such a visual person, not only with the obvious photography connection, but also I am a very visual learner, need to see things… and as well as just being able to see!

So again, I hope it turns out to be nothing serious and heals quickly for you, with no further issues.

Jeff, yes it is my photo eye. I hope it can heal. I am out of country now for 6 days. If it will not be better when I will be back I certainly will go to specialist.

Iurie, my eye seems to be working better. Doctor says it will take three to four month to heal completely, but I feel better already ;-)

What was it, Richard? I had been meaning to ask, but you never brought it up or made mention of it again after your Drupal trip, so I just figured that it had cleared up and was all fine. What was the cause?

Glad that it is better though.

Nobody really know. There were and still are two parallel cuts in length of 7mm.

It is healing now, so it is on good way.
