QTR Printing
18:19
So, today was a printing day. While ago, still in times of Windows XP, I had setup my printing using QTR with carbon pigments inks. Based on idea of Paul Roark and his inks sold by inksupply.com. I mix my own inks and than calibrate system for use with QRT to be able to control which inks when should be used.
Anyway, short while ago I moved to Windows7 and that means to install all software back. It also means to configure it all properly and that take much longer. It took days until I was able to print again. And not only because of issue I mentioned earlier, but also due to the fact that in last sixty or so days I was more shooting than printing. I just forgot all those little tricks and procedures, which are so natural if you repeat them daily. Once you do not do that you need to rediscover them again.
It reminds me a bit a time when I had 30-50 film rolls in my drawer and started to develop all of them. Every day or every half day one batch of six rolls. At the start it all went slow and I made mistakes, which I knew how to avoid. I have just forgot.

I made four 30x40cm prints today and I have framed and hanged them in our living room. They serve today for me the starting point of printing. Dust is cleaned not only from printer, but also from my memories and I now know all those tricks again. I also made some plans how to improve things.
Next time I may write more about whole procedure how do I make profile for the new ink/paper combination. And as you may feel already, it will not be only for you, but mainly for myself to avoid learning on own mistakes each time again and again ;-)
