My Dear Friend,
today, this Sunday, I am reporting from town Izmir in Turkey. I flew here, as you may know, directly from Cleveland, Ohio and when was it? Ah so long time ;-) Thursday.

Yes it feels rather long time ago. And after being in USA for a few days, being here seems like 180 degree change. You know I am not really big traveler, but from time to time I get chance to visit all kind of places. And while in Cleveland you need to look for places and people here it is directly under your nose, as one would say. Where huge space (for European) seems empty and cold here all is close and personal. Of course I am exaggerating a bit, but that how I do feel in these first days here.

It was wonderful weather until today when it is rainy, first day here were sunny and warm, sometimes about 16C. I was walking on cost walk and enjoying warm wind from the see and blue sky. Morning opening door to balcony at the hotel room and listening this buzzing city full of people, colors and smells. I have here for you short one minute peek recording on my notes recorder and that means not a great quality, but at least you get some idea.

My excellent meaning was a spoiled a bit Friday night, when at 3:00am neighbor was shouting for over a hour and also some female voice was screaming through the wall from next hotel room. Not sure what was it all about, but I can tell you that parties down in city were incredibly noisy even longer after that and my room is on 17th floor of the hotel.

Saturday I decide to walk even more and to see as much as I could,so at the end of the day I was rather tired. I think I walk over 20km. Didn’t make many images even there was a lot of to see, but somehow I am not triggered by those touristic views anymore. Those images you see in this post are few exceptions I did make.

As I wrote today is/was rainy day, I went out few times. Morning I went to Bazaar and found it very charming and interesting. I have sit for a while and drink some Çay (tea).

From the first evening I have favorite place here. It is Sir Winston Tea House, but about that I like to write little more in some future post. I hope I manage to get some images from there as well.

That would be it all for tonight I guess, I certainly will write more in few next days. I can positively conclude that never been in this country, my feelings about Turkey in general and Izmir in particular are positive. It is here all rather different, but also similar as I am use to. I always enjoy the differences much more. In Europe all is heading to the same direction, all seems to become same and I am scared of that. It is so much nicer when there is so much new to discover…
