Strobist?

My Dear Friend,
in a last few days I was busy to harvest ;-) some new equipment. I have done that for rather some years, but as Dave Beckerman says,it brings such a nice tension to try something new. Well I am there now. I was fishing for some speedlights from Nikon, tripods, remote controls for them and some other little stuff. Yes I am on my road to strobist. I like to try to use artificial light to control better lighting on my scene. It doesn’t mean that I will be now working in studio only. Thanks to no wires and no power socket is needed I can take this stuff anywhere I like and use it there.

Of course there is a lot to learn, but I am so excited, even very busy month March is in front of me I believe I can make it all.

The other day I had a talk with my long time friend E and one interesting think I realize in that discussion was that I have not shoot a single new picture for couple of month!

I am so busy with all kids of other things (like converting this side to use wordpress, making great surprise for J ;-) of yes I will announce it, just a wait a bit until…, well you let me know J.), so busy with so many things that there was no time left for creating pictures.

I have ordered some new carbon inks, which means that very soon there will be some printing and therefore chance to by my originals again. And as you may remember this time it will be full package, like in old good times, it will come with in mat and framed, so for you only to hang.

Old times I mean times in previous centuries when art work was finished when artist decided what frame goes with it and than it was done. So many of you can buy a print copy of my images from fotomoto, but there will be some originals made by me as well. Hopefully there will be some income to balance my costs ;-)

Did this feel too commercial? Well depends, but all this costs me so much money that is only natural to think about some support from you people, in case you like the photographs I am creating.

It is Saturday morning here and weekend full of surprises in front of us, so enjoy it and be nice ;-)

    Exciting times!

I too will be harvesting new equipment.  In the next few months will be revamping my entire photo world, as I finally leave the analog film world behind me, and fully embrace the digital, from beginning to end world.

And also have been debating whether I leave my whole lighting scheme behind me too and go flash based… why haul around bulky lights and equipment, when could carry three hand sized flashes?

Even more unbelievable, I am considering, considering, the inkjet route for prints, as opposed to my death grip clinging to light-sensitive processing of my work…

So, a lot of big changes coming to my photographic world this year, and always enjoy finding my friend Richard also continually growing and exploring in and with his photography, and sharing this journey with him (why am I talking of you in the third person?!)… I just hope to be able of catch up with you someday, one of my muses and inspirations!

All the best to you!  PS: I wish Cleveland was closer to me!

Great Jeff!, I wish you all the luck! And if you need some advices about inkjet printing let me know. As you know I do this for about ten years now.
And with strobes? Well I need to lear a lot, certainly would love to share my experience with you.
