It is about time
14:45
Dear Friend
this time there is no audio in my letter. Don’t you worry there is one in process of making. I have accumulate so many notes about subjects I like to share with you. I also think it is about the time to do so even before third podcast episode is ready to be released.
First I like to thank all those from you who did participate on my small web survey. Before I started I was a bit afraid that it will annoy people and nobody would write me anything. I am really surprised, over fifty (54) has submitted answers in last four weeks. This is amazing. If I take into account that I am getting about 20-30 comments per month than this result of survey is really amazing.
The reason why I started it was very simple. When you come to my pages I have no idea why you here and what you looking for. I can only assume, but I like to know. In old days when I was running my own modem based BBS I could chat with people online and I did that a lot. It was great as it bring very personal touch. I like to do the same and in the same way I like to understand reasons why you visiting.
More or less same reason is behind the podcast. To give more personal touch and maybe possibility to access in more ways I decided to record very direct and honest audio. I will continue that and will combine it with images. As my plan is talk more about images and ideas. I hope you not sad when there will be not many, if any at all, equipment talks.
It is now almost week I have submitted my RSS feed into iTunes. I have not received anything except the original email about starting the review process. If any of you do have experience with registering you podcast in iTunes, let me know how it went with you. Hopefully there will come the time when this feed will be accessible from iTunes as well. And please understand I am not Apple user
You may noticed that when you go to project pages images is popping up automatically. I selected images to start with. The reason behind this is that many of you just do not click on thumbs to see big pictures. Reason for that may be as simple as dislike what you see or not recognizing images as click-able. So I decided to show one images initially and than it is up to you to click for the following images or just click outside and close the viewing.
So this is, as Dave Beckerman sometimes writes, one of those blog postings where many topics from my mind and notes find their way here. And to not break it I have one more think to tell you.
I am experimenting with flash photography, following some strobist resources and trying some myself with limited equipment I have for this style of work. I always used on natural light, but possibility to control light has just opened in front of me and I am amazed what is possible to create.
To be able to finance some new equipment, I decided to end my analog era totally by offering for sale my Nikon F100, Nikon F80, Nikkor 50/1.8, Power grip for Nikon F80 and some analog Patterson development tanks and similar analog kitchen stuff ![]()
If you do have interest, please leave a comment or write me a email.
You mean I have to read all this? I can’t listen to it?
No, just joking, Richard… It’s multimedia, some audio, some text, hey, and maybe even some photos!
I’m not going to buy more cameras and I don’t need more Paterson tanks, but I’m intrigued to know what other “similar analog kitchen stuff” you want to get rid of.
Jacco,
and there will be video as well
Kitchen stuff, Well you know I have all those measure cylinders, clip for film hanging, glass, mixing tools, pipe for water to tank and tank wheels and so so many other things…
Probably nothing I really need…
