Hello again,
While ago Dave suggested to me to use WordPress as a platform for my website. I have played a bit with it a the time. Than I decided that my own platform is easier to handle as I know all about it and do not need to invest in finding how other people think. This actually was always my biggest problem. Already from time when I was developing software. When I couldn’t understand how certain system, library where build or should be used in limited time, than I gave up a decided that it is not good for me. When on other hand system was for me easier to understand and the philosophy behind was clear to me, than I could use it and made out of it whatever I wanted in rather short time.

Wordpress was also suggested to me by Dirk from japanexposures.com. And I must admit at his team made a great use of it.

When I was waiting for weeks until my friend Kazinski resume publishing his poems and articles after he sold his old domain dvere.sk I offered him why he is not going to start using wordpress for it. His problem, at least that seems to me, was to get platform started, any platform. He has no time for it at that moment so I said I will install it for him and he can go from that point on. After system was running and some first basic problems were solved he felt very unhappy and I couldn’t understand why. At the end I realize he has same problem as I did, the steep learning curve incompatible with his way. And what was even worse he wanted to run localized version with sever plugins he was use to from his old system.

To make long story short I begun to customize, install, translate and adjust all to his wishes and while I was doing it I learned a lot and I start to liked the system. Now, I am still far from knowing lot, but I feel more at home with wordpress and I may start implementing another web site in it. Web site for my wife. ;-)

Web site of my friend Kazinski is still not finished and will change in future, but in case you like, take a look (Slovak language). DO not be put off by jehova in domain name, Kazinski is well know for caricaturing and manipulating people’s mind and having sharp tees to bite anything ;-)
