Experience

I wanted to write already Sunday, but I was rather tired. Whole last week I was preparing for that Saturday night. Even somewhere in back of my mind I had that feeling that question: Is it really worth the effort?

Well let us start from beginning. Two years ago I had exposition of my project “Remembering Childhood” and than book published. After exposition I was left out with those nineteen huge (50×70) prints. Even last year I was playing with idea to do exposition in The Netherlands, but as you may now I do not have enough contacts to make that possible. Or I just didn’t put necessary time into that. So When offer comes at the begin of the year to participate on fund rising of one charitable organization to sale my prints and donate fifty percent of the money to them, I accepted.

Whole evening was going to happen in old house belonging to Town gallery in the middle of The Breda. I worked whole day to get the most of the small and frankly dirty room. I even used video projector to beam my newest work and some info on the screen between the prints.

Only thing which I have got from this was experience and idea how to do it better next time. I didn’t sell anything. Even some other artists who were there didn’t sell anything. As it seems people has come there more for fun, dancing and drinking.

Wrong place, wrong time… try again some other time. Good experience as you say.
