Beauty in Photography
07:15
Dear friend,
today early morning I was driving to work. Dark and rather cold with fog. Highway full of car, one really need to be careful on mistake here and you out of the game. I drive those 40km now second year and when I realize that I start to think about people doing this and similar road for twenty years. Who do not change habits who has this routine everyday. You know my friend we spoke about this many times, but we ourselves are part of this daily game. Once more once less, but yes we are.
And when you have that moment of still when you realize that you need something else when you feel you need a break from this circus, what you do? You may take a book or go to cinema. Or take a holiday or do one of those plans you started when your were twenty but never finished, and always thought I will do it. Yes I know, I have the same.
I have all these thought sin my mind all the time. Sometime they are on top like now and some other day, somewhere deep. When I create photograph I feel like I need to create something which should get me out of that deadly rhythm of daily routine. For me that is beauty something which lifts my spirit, something which shows me that there are other things than sitting in a car on the highway full of cars.
Yes there are other photographs which shows us important things, shows us what somebody did or how our environment is suffering. But for me that is a sad and it is part of bringing me down. I need to be lift up and therefore I love to look at something beautiful.
“Run, rabbit run/ Dig that hole, forget the Sun/ And when at last the work is done/ Don’t sit down, it’s time to dig another one”, simple words, at first glance, but deep. So deep. And then comes art in all its shapes: photographs, music, writing – to lift the burden, to tell you that we’re more than automatons in a car on the freeway. That we live and feel and, sometimes, even create something out of thin air…
All the best to you! And keep posting your work – it’s very inspirational.
Mihai.
