These days I am reading book of letter which Vincent Van Gogh wrote to his brother Theo. I am around first third and it is very interesting. Interesting to see how ordinary man he was and what common problems he encounter in his personal life as well as in his pursue of art.

One would not expect from common knowledge floating between people about him that he went to drawing and painting basically for as simple reason as earning money the way he likes. That he was working in daily job and get frustrated by it. That he had problem with contacting other artists, that he get to the situation when he was producing something which could be salable, something what was expected and not what he felt. Problems to find models, studio, understanding.

Very interesting reading indeed…
