Fast

I have been fasting today same as last week Friday. Not sure why I do it, but I guess I have kind of feeling to clean my body once a while. And have it on Friday feels all right. I started with it last week at the end of my illness and I believe also under influence a book I was reading. To not eat whole day, actually more than 24 hours is easier than I expected. IT is actually more difficult to control your discipline than to fight against feel of hunger.

Did you ever try it? I want to continues like this for few weeks and than try once to make three days fast.

    Hello, Richard -

I forget which year of my life it was… perhaps my 20th or 21st… but I fasted every wednesday, that whole 24 hour period, for the entire year… and at the end of Lent, I fasted from ‘The Last Supper’, thursday, until Easter Sunday morning.

All I would have on my fasting days, was liquids – water, milk, juice perhaps. Soup/broth didn’t count, that was deemed as food by me.

That was back when I used to be devoutly religious in my then Catholic faith. I haven’t intentionally, or purposefully fasted a day since then… but I am almost certain there have been more than a couple days since where I still did go all day without eating.

I did it to humble myself. To remind me that there are others who have it worse than me, and to be thankful for what I have. Maybe I should do it intentionally again every once in awhile… a little humbling is always a good thing to put one’s life and things in perspective.

    Wishing you well,
    Jeff
