Olympus contra Nikon

Few month ago when I have started with long night exposure I was using my Nikon F100 on tripod. For automatic exposure measurement this camera has mas time 32 seconds. I must say that in most cases it was not enough even with 1600ASA film. I really do deep night dark shots :-)

Than I took my Olympus OM2-n as I remember that it has very sophisticated measurement of the light even in time of exposure itself. So I put it on and I have got excellent results. Camera is keeping lens open as long as needed, I believe max is around 150 seconds, but I am sure it was more in some cases. When I was shooting some shadows in house and car was passing on street, light shortly flash in, Olympus immediately close open lens as there was suddenly enough light. Shot was done perfect not burn due to strong light flash from car’s reflectors.

Isn’t that cool how over 20 years old technology can still be perfectly usable and even better than latest?
