Hm… well that would be very counterintuitive for them to not an ‘undo’ function! I watched the tutorials for the software, and I could have swore that in one, the instructor guy did remove something that he had done, if I recall correctly… Well, I certainly don’t hope that is the case and they don’t have any ‘undo’ function… again though it would be ridiculous for a program to not have such a thing! I hope it is in there.

The NIK version is really interesting comparing it to your original, how so much more detail is brought out… it almost looks like its a separate photo than the first, where in the second shot, you just used less gel on the filter. Interesting.

So I am here like some exercising field, right? And distance in time depends how good memory a photographer have, for me and some images it will be very loooong time.

I was intentionally provocative to make a point – to distinguish a photographer’s feelings about an image and those of the viewer is one of our greatest challenges. Also known as ‘editing’. Which is why many photographers think leaving the photo alone for a longer period is good to create some distance.

Of course, emotions are or are not in person never in a image. I
A image can only trigger some. This one failed to do it for you and that is ok. Maybe some other will.

No matter how good you are, unless you have a big stamp of approval from society’s gatekeepers, it’s very difficult to sell your own art.

If you put on your website “President Obama just bought ten prints for the White House”; or “on permanent exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art” – you would sell more prints than you could handle. Therefore it follows, that it has very little to do with the art itself.

I fully agree with you Dirk, but he is exactly that kind of person I would be happy to have between owners or appreciators of my work.

Jeff, I know rather little about him. I met him couple of times and had several discussions about politics, philosophy and art. He is highly educated men with style and taste. I have not discuss with him directly about his view on my work. I may try that tonight.

It’s like getting married: there is a suitable partner out there for you, you just need to find them and it is not obvious who they are until you are married to them

The opinion and amount of interest of someone about you & your work is not an indicator about you or your work’s quality.

Hm. Interesting. To each their own. Just goes to prove that art, is purely subjective.

I would be curious as to see what his tastes were and what he would find interest in. Who/what was he, that you deemed him a man of note, and therefore, him being interested and/or purchasing your work, would be some sort of honor for you, and your work?

I know how you feel. 10×8 camera, need I say more? In my experience it is difficult to mix family trips and photography, not just in terms of luggage but also time and attention.
